As a thank you, all survey participants can receive a coupon for 15% off at shop.athletics.ca that is good until December 31, 2016. Please join us at on Saturday, October 15 at 7:40am for the annual "Harriers Hounds Race" at the main beach.

Liam Race

Liam Stanley, a member of the Harriers Youth Team, won a silver medal at the Paralympics 1,500 meter track race this morning (Sept 11).

Sandy Auburn was a long time Harrier of 30 years since joining the club in 1986.  She left us on August 26, 2016 at the age of 59 after a one and one half year struggle with pancreatic cancer.  Sandy was a very good runner in the Island Race Series, she was a Thetis Lake regular on Saturday mornings and she was a loyal member of the Hellions women's team in many Haney to Harrison and Vancouver Island Road Relays.

A New Brunswicker has taken the Vancouver Island Race Series by storm.  Edith Price recently moved to Victoria to be closer to her daughter and to enjoy the warmer winters.  She ran 6 of the 7 races in the 2016 Race Series and placed first in each race in her age division of 65-69, with a new course record in the Bazan Bay 5K.

Running 101:

KEEPING MOTIVATED

by Michael Lax, May 28, 2016

Thanks for reading my first-ever blog! So, why running? I'm a chiropractor, so why am I not writing about how to fix back problems and bad posture? Well, first of all, I'm passionate about running, and helping people start to run and get better at it.

The club held our Annual Awards Celebration on Friday, March 9 at the Cedar Hill Golf Club and the dinner and reception was an outstanding success with over 80 in attendance. All Harriers members were invited to attend the celebration to honour members' 2017 achievements, performances and contributions and to enjoy social time with fellow runners over dinner.  A special thanks to each of the 5 club Executive members, Kathleen Birney, Heather Afford, Sonja Yli-Kahilia, Gary Duncan and Bob Reid, for writing and delivering the script for the evening which is posted below.

New Year’s Eve "Run Through Time"

by Susan Jones

This last “race” of the year is one of my favourites.  I am not quite sure how many years it has been, but it is a regular feature of my New Year’s Eve celebration and a great way to end the year.  This year was no exception.
