P1020519-MPIH hosts 8 races in the Victoria area each year. There are races for all running syles including road, trail, hill, and just plain fun. The Thetis Lake Fall series includes the PIH Bob Reid Magical Mile, PIH Thetis Lake Relay, PIH Gunner Shaw Memorial 10K Cross Country Classic, and PIH Stewart Mountain 10 Mile / 5 Mile Cross Country Challenge.

PIH races are run by volunteers and supported by generous sponsors. New volunteers and sponsorship inquires are always welcome.

Prairie Inn Harriers Pioneer 8K100

PIH is proud to present the 41st Annual Harriers Pioneer 8K Road Race, part of the Vancouver Island Race Series and the BC Athletics Super Series.  Pioneer is a BC 8K Road Race Championship in 2020 and 2021 and the event has a rich history of outstanding performances attracting many Olympians and world record age category athletes.  Several Canadian Records have been set at Pioneer.  Initiated in 1980 by the Prairie Inn Harriers, and staged in Central Saanich for 38 years, the race relocated to nearby North Saanich in 2018.  The new certified 8 kilometre course, is of similar profile to the old course and features an out and back route through rural farmlands just north of the Victoria International Airport along mainly quiet country roads.

The Prairie Inn Harriers Running Club is pleased to present the 33rd Annual Harriers 2:18 Run Elk/Beaver Ultras.  The fast and flat 10 kilometre trail circuit around Elk and Beaver Lakes is considered as one of the premiere races of its type in North America.  Runners complete 10 laps for the 100K division, 8+ laps for 50 Miles and 5 laps for 50K while walkers complete 4 laps for 40K.  The venue is all trails, very flat, has good footing, and is in excellent condition. It is definitely a runner-friendly, P.R. type of course!

The Victoria Goddess Run is a PIH-supported event under the leadership of Harriers Race Directors, Cathy Noel and Tami Tate.  The ninth annual Victoria Goddess Run includes a 10K and a 5K Run/Walk which start and finish at a convenient venue, Belmont Secondary School on Glen Lake Road, and is supporting the BC Cancer Foundation. The lady's-focused event offers two excellent race courses and is a very popular summer gathering.  The run creates an opportunity for women to come together in a non-competitive, friendly, social environment to celebrate the power that they can embrace when they work together to reach their goals.

The 10K and 5K start together at 8:45 am SHARP.

twilight2 thumb The 2:18 Run Twilight Shuffle 5K is a PIH-supported event under the leadership of Race Director and long-time Harrier, Phil Nicholls. After 30 years of being hosted in Chemainus with a rich tradition of attracting high performance athletes and many top level age group participants, the Twilight Shuffle moved to Victoria in 2015 and is now held at Thetis Lake Park. This classic race is one of the only evening events on Vancouver Island.

All Harriers are encouraged to participate or volunteer at the Twilight Shuffle to support 2:18 Run Corporation for the tremendous sponsorship and garments that Phil  provides for the Stewart Mountain Challenge, Thetis Lake Relay, and Gunner Shaw Classic races in November and for the Harriers Elk/Beaver Ultras in May.  He also assisted with garments for the 40th Anniversary Celebration and Club Reunion/BBQ.

Harriers Thetis Lake Galloping Goose Bob Reid Magical Mile Logo2017 100Prairie Inn Harriers and 2:18 Run proudly present the fourth edition of the Harriers Bob Reid Magical Mile taking place on Labour Day, Monday, September 7, 2020 on a NEW race course using the E&N paved Rail Trail.  This is Race #3 of the Victoria Mile Series including the Victoria Day Douglas Mile on May 18 directed by Cathy Noel and the Canada Day Lagoon Mile on July 1 directed by Chris Kelsall.  Three different one-mile road races in three different locations on three different dates, taking place on three different Statutory Holidays with three different Race Directors in three different municipalities (Victoria, Colwood and View Royal) with two months between each race, a brand new must-do Series.

Teams of 4 each participants run one 5K lap of the main trails looping Thetis Lake. This popular relay, always held on Remembrance Day, is the first race in the Harriers Thetis Lake Cross Country Adventure Series including the Harriers Stewart Mountain 10 Mile/5 Mile Challenge on December 6, 2020 and the Harriers Gunner Shaw 10K Classic on November 21, 2020.

Always on December 26, Boxing Day which in 2020 is a Saturday.
